Blackened Tilapia



I got this super-easy recipe from a firefighter friend of ours. It has become a family favorite! Thanks, Brandon! I love to serve it with a side of pinto beans and corn on the cob.

Ingredients:

frozen or fresh tilapia filets (I use frozen)
Zatarain's blackened seasoning
1/4 stick butter (melted)

Directions:

If using frozen fish, thaw it as directed on the package.

Brush or spoon butter onto one side of the fish, and sprinkle seasoning on the butter. This is a spicy seasoning, so go easy if you are sensitive to spice. Flip and repeat. Place the fish in a stove top skillet and cook until the fish is no longer transparent. Flip to the other side and cook the same. The fish will be done when it flakes apart.
